MitraSync is built for adult caregivers. We handle children's data conservatively.
Only an adult (18+) can hold an account. A child cannot register or sign in on their own.
A parent or legal guardian may add a Child profile under their own account and manage that child's records on the child's behalf.
When a profile indicates the person is under 18, we ask the adult to affirm that they are the parent or legal guardian and consent to MitraSync processing that child's health data on the child's behalf. This affirmation is recorded with the policy version and date.
We do not profile children, do not show them advertising, and do not track them for any behavioural or commercial purpose.
A child profile and its records can be deleted at any time by the managing adult, with the same erasure guarantees as any other record.
A minor is never given an independent login and is never assigned as a delegate over another person's account.
Coming of age (planned)
In a future version, when a dependent reaches 18, the managing adult will be able to transfer that profile into a new adult-owned account so the now-adult controls their own data. (Not available yet.)
